Build Your Author Brand Course Content:

Week 1 Module: Welcome to the course and Introduction to you as an Author

We will take time during the first week of the course for all participants to introduce yourself as an author as well as introduce your book(s) to both Isabelle and the rest of the group.

This valuable first "getting to know you" part of the course will help you to begin thinking about yourself as an Author Brand and how you wish to be represented, as well as building relationships with your fellow authors as a group.

Week 2 Module: Create your Unique Author Brand Story

Create your fundamental brand story, that will form the basis of your Author brand communications. 

It is not enough to tell your ideal reader what your book is about or who you are as the author. It is essential to communicate WHY you have written your book and why your ideal reader should care enough to understand that your book is for them. 

Week 3 Module: Reach your Ideal Reader

Knowing exactly who your ideal reader is and how to find them is absolutely key to your overall book promotion strategy. In this masterclass you will learn how to identify your target media and opportunities, to directly reach your ideal reader and audience.

Week 4 Module: Create Your Strategy

How are you going to launch your book or how are you going to create longer term impact on your potential readers with your existing book? We will discuss how to formulate the strategy that works best for you and looking at Launch Events / Reviews / Competitions / Interviews / Features / Affiliate marketers / Book events & speaking opportunities

Week 5 Module: Create your Book Publicity Materials  

What your story is and how you tell it matters - narratively, visually - in a way that's going to be impactful enough to win that pitch or land an interview. 

In this practical workshop you'll learn how to put together a compelling pitch or press release and your finished bio / boiler plate.

Week 6 Module: Looking at the Big Picture

Once you have put your strategy in place to use your Story and your Publicity materials, we will look at how these work as part of your full marketing strategy. We will assess the different marketing, social media and promotional platforms available to authors and how you can navigate these to figure out what is going to work best for you.


In addition, the course will provide:

  • Pre-recorded teaching modules that you can study in your own time

  • Our unmissable, value filled Open Q&A sessions with like minded Authors, hosted by Isabelle, will take place at key points throughout the course.

  • Individual feedback on your written work throughout the course.

Hi, I'm Isabelle

I help Authors to Build a unique Brand, raise your profile within your genre(s) and grow your readership. I work alongside you to help create your Author Brand Story, navigate and define your target readership and how to reach them, through PR, Publicity and Marketing.

I cut through the myths about what PR is and create clear pathways to raise your visibility through the most powerful tool we have at our disposal – the media. I bring my wealth of knowledge, expertise and resources from my two decades as a publicist for giants of the TV, Film, Entertainment and Publishing sectors, including JK Rowling and BBC.

I offer alternatives from the conventional PR agency model to make my expertise accessible to more Authors and empower them to increase their impact, influence and achieve greater success.

 Answers to our Most Commonly Asked Questions

 
  • The course will begin on 27th February 2024 and will run for 6 weeks.

    You will have access to the course modules for 12 months following the course start date, so don't worry if you don't manage to complete all of the modules within the 6 week timeframe of the course.

  • The Live Q&A weekly group sessions will be recorded and made available for you to catch up or re-watch.

    All of the course modules are pre-recorded for you to watch each week at a time that best suits you, via the private online platform.

    You will have access to all of the course modules and materials for 12 months from the start date, so don't worry if you don't manage to complete everything within the 6 week timeframe of the course.

  • Sessions will be held at times for both UK and international Authors to have the opportunity to attend.

    Live sessions will usually be held on Tuesdays at 7.00pm British Standard Time. Alternative timings of sessions will be offered to fit the requirements of the cohort as necessary.

    When you sign up for the programme you will receive a calendar for your diary of the Live Zoom sessions.

    If you're unable to attend any of the sessions live, recordings of each will be uploaded to our private members' area online for you to watch in your own time.

    All of the teaching modules for the course will be pre-recorded and delivered to you each week to watch in your own time.

  • Yes, you will have the opportunity to join Live Q&A group sessions on Zoom with Isabelle to ask your questions and get individual support within the group.

    Live Q&A Zoom sessions will be held at key points through the course.

    Q&A times will be at times convenient to both UK & International Authors.

    In addition, you will be welcome to send any emails to Isabelle with questions or to gain feedback on your written work throughout the duration of the course.
